Alex is now officially one year old, or in his second year, if you prefer! He started his birthday playing the keyboard in the living room (now with real speakers!).
We took a balloon and some treats (cinnamon graham cracker animals) in to day care Friday before picking him up early for the trip to Iowa.
He had an exciting weekend -- Granny fed him, Grandpa fed him, Mommy fed herself (look closely!), Aunt Mindy took him for a walk/dance around the kitchen and Great-Aunt Mary Kay read him a book.
He received a whole pile of presents, starting with an Elmo chair and a large box that turned out to be a multi-story parking garage/ramp/elevator. Aunts Kendra and Mindy were all dressed for the occasion.
Granny baked an angelfood cake in the shape of the number one. Alex picked it up, but wasn't the least bit interested in eating it. More pictures of that tomorrow!
