September

The first Saturday of September, we visited the Bristol Renaissance Faire again, this time with Alex's friend Ben and his family. The two of them enjoyed running around and climbing all over things. On Sunday, it was off to my Aunt JoAnn's for a barbecue, where Alex met his second-cousin Alex. They played with the bean bags and ladder toss. By late afternoon, he was out cold and ready for the ride home.

Once again, a picture of Alex in his favorite spot. Home early from work one day, I thought I'd teach him to pour his own drinks. He did pretty well, all things considered! He's also got a rocking chair for quiet reading time.

Mid-September, we picked up some miniature furniture from IKEA. Alex helped assemble it -- his favorite tool at the moment is the screwdriver. Once it was all done, he found the table and chairs to be the perfect height for his a crayon masterpiece. A few days later, our neighbors came over to make pizza. The ball pit got some use, too.

Last Weekend of August

A few pictures from my birthday weekend: Alex smiling away, enjoying dinner with a friend, building with waffle blocks and Uncle Greg, riding his creation around the kitchen, the repairs after the collision, and the new recumbent design. Later on, Aunt Mindy and Uncle Joe read him books while he tried to slither away. Perhaps next year he'll be more help in blowing out the candles. Not unexpectedly, he preferred salty crackers to the sweet cake.

Sunday morning, Granny showed him how to drive the tractor (it's as old as me!). His favorite button was the horn. One last group shot, then it was time for a few laps around the yard.
