Wet & Lazy Weekend

For Easter weekend, my parents & Mindy drove over to visit. The weather was great, so we went outside for a walk to the park. He went down the slide once or twice, but seemed to have more fun just climbing around the equipment. Then it got cold, so we went home. Here's Grandpa Jim with Alex.

Back inside, Alex tried to sneak up the stairs (as he occasionally does) when we weren't looking. Alex discovered that Cheerios come in convenient, portable, dumpable(!) travel packs. Aunt Mindy (and the rest of us, too) taught Alex to ride and push his car in circles around the sunroom. Here he is chewing on a musical toy.

Ever wonder why I wear always wear sunglasses outside? Wonder no more. A few days later, he was still pushing that car around the sunroom. He does this whenever it's warm enough we can open the door!

A colorful meal of fruit & veggies last weekend.

Yesterday, Alex took another walk to the park. He walked most of the way himself. Being his first time in shorts, he also scraped his knees a bit -- pretty minor (you can barely see it in the next photo), and it didn't bother him one bit. He loved the swing -- much better than his first time, when he started screaming before we'd even finished strapping him in. Back inside, he ran around the kitchen with some of his puzzle pieces before returning to his musical farm animal toy.

Today, we went to the Kohler Children's Museum in Glenview. It's quite a place -- room after room of toys (some of the educational) and nothing off-limits. He loved 1) pushing all the buttons and 2) the water park. Next time, we'll take a camera. (Oops.)

Spring Pictures

Back when it was warmer ('round mid-March!) we took Alex out to the backyard swing. He must've been tired.

Then it got cold again, so he was forced to play with his indoor toys like the animal puzzle pieces and rocking horse (in motion) a bit longer. He moves fast now, sometimes charging the camera. This makes it very hard to get a picture of him upright, but sometimes I can catch him.

It's easy to catch him eating, however -- he always seems to be doing that! We've learned he likes chicken, whether canned, in pieces, or still on the bone (he really enjoyed gnawing on the leg). Crackers are still his favorite, of course.
